Bespoke Business Websites
Websites for your business, built to connect to the systems behind it.
What it does
We design and build websites that explain clearly what your business does and make it easy for customers to get in touch, book or buy. Each website is designed around your business, loads quickly, works well on phones, and can connect to your booking system, shop or other software, now or later.
Typically includes
- A design that suits your business and customers
- Pages you can update yourself
- Enquiry, quote and booking forms
- Search engine basics set up from the start
Works with what you already use
A website is often where customers first deal with you. We connect it to the tools behind your business, so enquiries, bookings and orders go straight to where they are handled.
- Your booking system, so customers can book from your pages
- Your inbox or admin system, so enquiries arrive as records
- An online shop or card payments, when you want to sell online
- Google Analytics and Search Console, so you can see how the site is doing
Where it helps
Some of the problems this kind of system is built to solve.
- Your website is out of date and doesn't reflect what you do now
- It's slow, hard to use on a phone or hard to find on Google
- Enquiries arrive by email and then get typed into another system
- Changing a page means waiting for someone else to do it
Who it's for
Some of the businesses this kind of system suits. We build for any type of business, so if yours isn't here, tell us how it works.
- Trades
- A clear website showing the work you do and the areas you cover, with a simple way to ask for a quote.
- Hospitality
- Menus, rooms and events kept up to date, with booking built in or linked from every page.
- Professional services
- A website that explains what you do in plain terms and makes it easy for new clients to get in touch.
- Retail
- A website for your shop that can grow into selling online, using the same products and stock.
How we work
We handle every stage, from the first conversation to looking after the system once it's up and running.
Every system is designed, built and supported by Tom Brookson, drawing on more than 10 years of building software for businesses of all sizes.More about us
01Scope
We find out how your business works, talk to the people who'll use the system, and agree with you what it needs to do.
02Design
We plan the screens and workflows with you, so you can see how it will work and ask for changes before we start building.
03Build
We build the system in stages and show you each part as it is ready, so you can give feedback along the way.
04Support
Once the system is in use, we look after it, fix any problems and add to it as your needs change.
Common questions
Can we update the website ourselves?
Yes. We set up your website so you can change text, photos and opening times yourself, without needing to know any code. For bigger changes, such as a new section or a new feature, we can do the work for you, and we look after the website once it's live.
Will the website work well on phones?
Yes. Every website we build is designed for phones, tablets and computers from the start, not adjusted afterwards. Many of your visitors will be on a phone, so we make sure pages load quickly, text is easy to read and buttons are easy to tap on a small screen.
Will the website help us appear on Google?
We build every website with the basics search engines look for: fast pages, clear headings, page titles and descriptions, and a sitemap. We can also set up Google Search Console so you can see how people find you. Nobody can guarantee rankings, but a well-built website gives your business a good starting point.
Can you redesign our existing website?
Yes. We can redesign your current website, keeping the content that works and bringing across your pages and images. Old web addresses are redirected to the new pages, so you keep the search ranking you have built up and visitors following old links still find what they need.
Can the website grow into a bigger system later?
Yes. Because your website is built for you, it can be added to as your business changes, for example with online booking, a customer login area, an online shop or a link to your stock system. You can start with a straightforward website and add these when you need them, without starting again.
How much does bespoke software cost?
It depends mainly on how much the system needs to do: the number of screens and workflows, how many types of user it has, which other systems it connects to, and whether existing data needs moving across. We price each project individually and, after an initial conversation, send a proposal setting out what you'll get and what it will cost.
Want to talk it through?
Tell us how things work at the moment and what's causing problems. We'll talk through the options with you and what we could build.
