Bespoke Online Shops
Online shops built around your products, pricing and customers.
What it does
We can build a straightforward shop, or one that handles more involved things like products customers put together themselves, trade pricing, quotes that turn into orders, or links to your stock system.
Typically includes
- Products with options or made to order
- Trade accounts and customer-specific prices
- Links to your stock and order processing
- A checkout that suits your customers
Works with what you already use
Behind every online order there is stock to update, money to record and a parcel to send. We connect your shop to the tools you already use, so orders flow through without being typed in again.
- Card payments, through providers such as Stripe and PayPal
- Your stock system, so stock levels stay right as orders come in
- Your accounting software, so sales are recorded automatically
- Order confirmation and dispatch emails to your customers
Where it helps
Some of the problems this kind of system is built to solve.
- Your products have lots of options, or are made to order
- Trade customers need their own accounts and prices
- Online orders have to be typed into your stock or order system by hand
- Customers ask for quotes that you then turn into orders manually
Who it's for
Some of the businesses this kind of system suits. We build for any type of business, so if yours isn't here, tell us how it works.
- Retail
- Selling online alongside a physical shop, with one set of products, prices and stock for both.
- Manufacturing
- Made-to-order or configurable products, where customers choose sizes, materials or options and see the price change.
- Trades
- Suppliers selling to trade customers who need their own accounts and prices, and the option to pay on account.
- Hospitality
- Gift vouchers, experiences and products sold online, alongside your bookings.
How we work
We handle every stage, from the first conversation to looking after the system once it's up and running.
Every system is designed, built and supported by Tom Brookson, drawing on more than 10 years of building software for businesses of all sizes.More about us
01Scope
We find out how your business works, talk to the people who'll use the system, and agree with you what it needs to do.
02Design
We plan the screens and workflows with you, so you can see how it will work and ask for changes before we start building.
03Build
We build the system in stages and show you each part as it is ready, so you can give feedback along the way.
04Support
Once the system is in use, we look after it, fix any problems and add to it as your needs change.
Common questions
Can you build a simple shop too?
Yes. We build straightforward online shops as well as more involved ones. A simple shop might just need your products, a basket and a checkout that takes card payments. Because it's built for you, it's easy to add more later, such as trade accounts or links to your stock system, as your business grows.
Can trade and retail customers use the same shop?
Yes. Trade customers log in to their own account to see their prices, discounts or payment terms, while everyone else sees your standard retail prices. Both use the same shop and the same products, so you only have one catalogue to keep up to date, and every order arrives in the same place.
Which payment providers can you use?
We work with the main card payment providers, such as Stripe and PayPal. If you already use one, we can usually connect your new shop to it, so payments keep going to the same account. For trade customers, the shop can also take orders on account, to be paid by invoice later.
Can you move our existing online shop?
Yes. We bring your products, customers and order history across from your current shop, such as Shopify or WooCommerce, and redirect your old web addresses to the new pages. That way customers and search engines find the new online shop without broken links, and returning customers can still see their past orders.
How much does bespoke software cost?
It depends mainly on how much the system needs to do: the number of screens and workflows, how many types of user it has, which other systems it connects to, and whether existing data needs moving across. We price each project individually and, after an initial conversation, send a proposal setting out what you'll get and what it will cost.
